The Adventurous Journey is all about getting out there and going on an expedition or exploration in a challenging environment, with a clear purpose.

More than any other Section of The Award, the AJ is about team work and social connection.

 Types of AJ

  • Expedition

An expedition is a journey with a purpose! In an expedition the primary focus is on the journeying.

  • Exploration

An exploration is a purpose with a journey! The focus is to observe and collect information relevant to the purpose, where only one third of the planned activity is spent on journeying.

  • Residential Project (Gold Only) 

An Adventurous Project is usually suited to those over 18 years old as it tends to require more innovation, creativity and challenge. Discussion with Coordinators and State/Territory offices is required for approval.
