You could be on your way to an Award in 5 easy steps:
1. Choose your Award level
How old are you? If you are just 14, then Bronze is perfect for you. If you are over 17, ask yourself what sort of commitment you want to make – a year or more?
2. Find an Award Leader
All Award Leaders (sometimes known as Coordinators) are attached to one of our State Offices. They are the people who will guide and assist you with your Award. They give you your Award Record Books and work with you to achieve your goals. To find a Coordinator in your area you can start by asking your school, uni or club if they run The Award, or contact your State or Territory Offices.
3. Find your Assessors
For each area of your Award (skills, volunteering, physical recreation and adventurous journey), you will need someone to assess your commitment and achievements. These people work with you to complete your Record Book and achieve your award. Your coordinator may help you recognise and organise appropriate assessors.
4. Work out a plan
With your Award Leader and Assessors sorted, you are on to the fun part of working out your own Award program. This includes deciding what skill to work on, where to volunteer, what physical recreation activity to participate in and where to go on your adventurous journey.
5. Get going
Nothing to stop you now – you have the plan, the people and the will power. So get out there and challenge yourself!
