"Young people are our future. Developing them to their full potential is a top priority. One practical way to develop this huge reservoir of talent is through participation in the Award".

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award held its 2009 Fundraising Dinner on Friday 29 May at the Hilton Adelaide. Special guests included Minister for Youth, Tom Koutsantonis MP and The Honorary Larry Anthony, Chair of the National Award Committee.
Over 230 of Adelaide's leading business figures were welcomed by Robert Gerard AO, Chair of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award State Award Committee in South Australia.
Guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining and entertainment, with many fantastic prizes offered in the raffle and auctions.
The MC, Michael Keelan interviewed three of South Australia's outstanding Gold Award participants Nathan Strempel, Jessica Parker and David Speirs. They spoke passionately about the Award, how it has impacted their lives and why they believe the Award is so important for all young people.
Singer, and recent Gold Award participant, Grace Bawden entertained with her powerful and moving voice, touching the hearts of the audience. To finish off the entertainment, the guests danced the night away to the cool sounds from the spinning decks of DJ WiPod, the Helsinki Enigma.
The dinner was a successful fundraising event and we thank all guests for their generosity. All profits from the night will go towards helping support young disadvantaged South Australians by providing them with a variety of opportunities that foster personal and skill development and connection with their communities.
Thank you
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award would like to extend its special thanks to those who generously donated prizes for the raffle and auctions.
