Did you know you can work towards your NTCE while you are still in Grade 9 or 10? Doing The Award allows you to earn NTCE credits towards Years 11 or 12.
What are recognised studies? .jpg)
- Recognised studies gives you more flexibility in what and where you study.
- Recognised studies can help you think more clearly about your further education, training and work.
- They are also an effective way to re-engage young people back into education.
What does 1 credit equal?
One credit point = One Semester. This can be one of 22 units of study for your NTCE.
You can start earning NTCE credits from the age of 14. Why? How?
Dukes will give you a head start earlier so you can begin collecting points towards your NTCE. This gives you more free time in your Senior years so you can focus more on your academic studies, and on free-choice subjects that you really enjoy. Doing the Bronze and Silver Awards earlier on can also give you time to think about what life skills you want to develop or pursue for your senior schooling years.
How long will it take me to complete a level of The Award?
We encourage our participants to complete an Award before they finish school so they can claim an NTCE credit point.
What’s involved?
There are 4 sections of The Award:
- Volunteering
- Physical Recreation
- Learning a new Skill
- 2 expeditions/explorations.
You must show regular commitment in your Award.
