For this Section, participants must:
- Undertake an activity regularly which develops or improves on a desired skill, for the required length of time depending on the Award level chosen.
- Show regular commitment, progress and improvement of their chosen activity.
- Understand regular commitment usually means at least one hour per week.
- Activities must be undertaken substantitally in their own time. This means that while some activity may take place within school, university or work hours, most of it should occur outside of these scheduled times.
Please note that goals should be realistic and achievable within an individual's ability.
The Skills section of the Duke of Ed is a personal choice like all other areas of the award, and should be something that interests the Participant! It can be difficult or easy, as long as it meets the above requirements and the Participant is enjoying it. Do it alone, with other people or something totally unique!
