Central Coast gameWith the formation of a new National Youth League for the upcoming season and Sydney FC’s long term plans to form its own football academy, Sydney FC shares the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s vision of giving young people the opportunity to achieve at the highest possible level. The Club’s involvement in the recent FOX8 series of Football Superstar has also provided hundreds of talented youngsters the chance to live out their sporting dreams and be drafted into the professional ranks of this great club. One lucky young footballer will win the opportunity of a lifetime when they prove they have the skills and maturity to win a contract with Sydney FC.

This kind of drive required at the elite level has seen Sydney FC defender Nik Tsattalios look to his next challenge - participating in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. As a talented and dedicated young player, Nik enjoys the opportunity the Award is providing him to strive to be at his best, employing the same qualities that saw him face up to the likes of David Beckham last year in Sydney FC’s infamous friendly against LA Galaxy.

 

Inaugural A-League champions, Sydney FC are at the forefront of the football revolution that is sweeping Australia. With new signingsSydney FC passion this season including Socceroos and World Cup hero John Aloisi and Olyroos in Mark Bridge and Stuart Musialik, Sydney looks set for an incredibly strong tilt at the premiership under the direction of head coach John Kosmina. Their 2008/09 season kicks off with a blockbuster match at the Sydney Football Stadium at 7pm on Saturday 16 August against arch rivals Melbourne Victory, the first of 10 home matches for the season.
